Jones Amanda

 
 

Amanda Jones is head of North East London NHS Foundation Trust’s Perinatal Parent Infant Mental Health Service and an honorary associate professor of Warwick Medical School.  She trained as a family therapist and then did her doctoral research at the Tavistock/UELwhich investigated how the maternal defensive processes can derail a baby’s development.  In collaboration with the Anna Freud Centre, Amanda was involved in the Channel Four documentaries ‘Help me love my baby’, winner of the Royal Society of Television’s best factual programmes award.  She has recently completed making five documentaries for the NSPCC and Warwick Medical School called "Breakdown or Breakthrough:  pregnancy, birth and the first 18 months of life".  These will be available via the internet for free to all practitioners and parents interested in this area.  Amanda speaks at national and international conferences on psychodynamic parent-infant treatment.
